Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has ordered a probe into the Limuru accident in which a pastor is said to have been involved.
Boinnet says following public outcry he has dispatched a team of senior officer to the scene of the accident to verify the information provided to him by the Tigoni police.
Boinnet says that according to the information provided to him by the Tigoni police, the vehicle was driven by one Simon Kuria who was taken to court yesterday but not charged.
According to some witness accounts, a pastor and not Kuria was driving the vehicle at high speed, on the wrong side of the road when he hit a man and his wife who later died.
It’s also alleged that the pastor fled the scene of the accident and that the Range Rover he was driving was uninsured.
